Mike's Position on Education

Here is how we can strengthen our Education system with the goal of making student success our top priority:

• Supply teachers with more classroom support
• Allocate resources more effectively: More money must go into providing classroom materials, and less into ballooning school administrations.
• Gear curriculum towards experiential learning, such as more vocational classes, that prepares our students for opportunities through exploring the work world.
• In the 21st Century, standardized testing may be a reality we cannot avoid. If we are going to test students in a standardized fashion, we must monitor individual results to measure skill growth.
• We need to make college and trade school education affordable to everyone who wants to attend.
